Many kids who attend camp feel a sense of belongingness as they become part of a community. At camp, you are not alone as there are other campers and positive staff members who are there to help you grow and achieve your true potential! There are many ways that camp teaches you about teamwork. Whether it is interacting with your cabin group, or participating in fun team activities, camp promotes an environment where you can connect with other campers and work together to achieve common goals!
COMMUNICATING WITH OTHERS
At camp, you can learn to work together with other campers by effectively communicating, listening, and taking on different leadership roles in a team environment. By being a part of a team, you will be able to decide and plan with your team members by setting goals and working towards them together!
RESPECT ONE ANOTHER
Despite being in a team, it is important that you are responsible for yourself as you choose your attitudes, actions, and behaviours. Camp teaches you the importance of respecting your teammates as you will have many opportunities to support, motivate, and encourage each other!
PROBLEM-SOLVING
When working in a team, you may face challenges and conflicts. It is important that you stop and think, and choose your response. At camp, you are surrounded by many leaders and role models who can help guide you to stay on track and choose group success!
ACHIEVE MORE TOGETHER
In a team environment, it is important to participate and do your part in bringing out your own strengths. Camp gives you the opportunities to identify and understand your strengths and abilities in which you can utilize and share your strengths with other campers when working in a team.
Camp promotes a safe environment where you can build strong friendships through interacting and working with those around you. At camp, you will learn the importance of teamwork. As you learn how to effectively work in teams, you can transfer and apply the skills you learn at camp in your everyday lives! Whether it is working with others on a group project or playing with your sports team, being able to work with others is a valuable skill to have. There is no “I” in team!
