“It’s not just about toys – you’re giving them tools to help with their future!”
These words from one of our camper parents, Laurette, when discussing the value of Moorelands Kids’ Christmas Sharing, truly speak to the heart of what Moorelands Kids is all about.
Your support of our programs can give kids so many gifts. The gift of outdoor adventures at summer camp; the gift of fun STEM projects and active games in our after-school programs; and the gift of essential items for the care of a newborn in our Baby Bundles program.
But there are other, deeper, gifts too at the heart of all these activities. The gift of confidence to a teen who is struggling with self-esteem; the gift of friendship to a child who is feeling lonely or bullied; and the gift of leadership skills to a youth who is facing barriers to school success.
In your myMoorelands, you’ll read Laurette’s story and how these gifts are more valuable than ever as we all continue to face the challenges brought into the spotlight by COVID-19 and the equity gaps the pandemic has thrust to the forefront. You’ll see how your support now gives the gift of opportunity and can spread light and joy through Moorelands Kids’ Christmas Sharing and our programs that run throughout the year.
And as you read, I hope you’ll consider taking advantage of a very special matching opportunity on #GivingTuesday, December 1st, when all online gifts to Moorelands Kids – up to $30,000 – are being DOUBLED by The Ward Family Foundation. Let’s keep kids resilient and strong well into 2021! Learn more at www.moorelands.ca/giving-tuesday/
Thank you again for your commitment to our kids. Together we’re giving kids the gift of opportunity to transform and grow. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the year ahead!
