Hey Moorelands!
What a wonderful few weeks we’ve been having at Moorelands Wilderness Camp.Watching the campers grow in confidence and skills over each week has been phenomenal. But can you believe we are already in week six – the last week of camp? It really has flown by!
As many of you have seen first hand, the staff at Moorelands work tirelessly to make sure every moment on the Island is fun for our campers. But they also put a massive amount of effort into ensuring that our campers KNOW – SHOW – GROW… This means that every activity (or even every walk to every activity!) is an opportunity:
- For our staff to help our campers learn about positive character traits and new leadership skills (KNOW)
- For our campers to demonstrate their new character and skills (SHOW)
- To help embed these positive qualities and skills in each camper’s life, ready to take back into their community back home (GROW)
You have to see it with your own eyes to really understand…so to help you with that, check out these videos of the amazing community building and learning experiences which happen everyday at Moorelands Camp on Kawagama Lake!
This past Friday was also super exciting because it was our Visitors’ Day! Moorelands Camp welcomed over 40 past campers, counsellors, supporters and their families to explore the Island and learn about the camp. Alumni reunited and shared stories and memories; family, friends and supporters were amazed by the fantastic quality of programming at camp and everyone was enchanted by the magic of Moorelands’ Wilderness Camp.
