At Moorelands Kids, we celebrate generosity and community involvement. On November 29th, we will participate in Giving Tuesday and we hope that you will, too. Here are a few ways that you can help us make the most of this giving season:
1. Donate to Moorelands Kids
When you donate to Moorelands Kids throughout the month of November, your impact is doubled. This year, the Ward Family Foundation will be matching donations up to $35,000.
This year, our fundraising goal is $100,000 and we hope that by reaching it, we can better serve our community — we can send more kids to Moorelands Camp next summer, support moms and newborns with Baby Bundles, spread joy over the holidays to families in need with Christmas Sharing; and continue empowering kids to become leaders in their communities through our after-school programs.

2. Donate securities
Did you know that you can donate securities to Moorelands Kids? If you’re looking to reduce your taxes, consider a meaningful gift of publicly-listed securities such as stocks or mutual funds. With a direct donation of shares to Moorelands, you pay no capital gains tax, making this the most efficient way to give and maximizing your impact. Learn more here.
3. Start a peer-to-peer campaign
Peer-to-peer campaigns are a great way to get others involved and share our cause with friends, family, coworkers and your community. Consider setting a fundraising goal with the people in your office or on your sports team — here are a few ideas to get you started.
4. Host a Facebook fundraiser
Use social media to give back — set up a fundraiser on your Facebook page, share it with your social network and encourage them to share it, too.
Have a birthday coming up in the month of November? Try a Facebook birthday fundraiser in support of Moorelands Kids and ask your friends to donate as a gift to you. See how to do that here.
5. Spread the word!
Share your Giving Tuesday plans with your network and let them know how they can support as well. Follow @moorelandskids on social media, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, and use hashtags like #MoorelandsKids and #GivingTuesdayCA to help spread the message.
