THANK YOU to our Send a Kid to Camp (SAK) campaign donors and fundraisers! This year, our growing group of amazing fundraisers wrote letters, sent emails, sold fire muffins and even RACED ACROSS ONTARIO in under 24 hours to raise money to send kids to Moorelands’ virtual camp! Thanks to YOUR contributions to the campaign, we were able to keep kids connected, resilient and strong! (www.greenbot.com) All Moorelands Kids’ programs follow a Positive Youth Development framework and empower kids with the 4 Cs: Confidence, Competence, Character and Connections.
Because of YOU:
- 426 online spaces filled this summer
- 97 intentional and engaging videos helped campers learn and grow in the 4 Cs
- 174 Hours of LIVE cabin group time nurtured campers mental health and wellbeing

WHAT IS POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT?
Positive Youth Development (PYD) is an intentional approach that recognizes, utilizes, and enhances young people’s strengths and promotes positive outcomes. All our programs follow a Positive Youth Development framework by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships, and providing kids with the support they need to build on their leadership strengths.
Our staff is taught the 40 building blocks of PYD identified by the Search Institute that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. Staff use this PYD framework to underpin all their intentional activities and debriefs with kids.
We train staff to focus on making a positive difference in the lives of young people by being nurturing role models and by providing a positive environment.
