We are overwhelmed by the support Moorelands Kids received on Giving Tuesday this year. With the help of everyone who donated, shared our campaign with friends and family, and reached out to connect with us over this past month, we were able to raise $151,602 for kids in the GTA!
As we rebuild our programs in person, we set our most ambitious fundraising goal to date this November — $100,000. Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen an increased level of anxiety in our kids, making our programs more important than ever. We hope to use these funds in our mission to empower kids facing financial barriers by sending them to camp, providing them with safe after-school programs and giving them gifts at Christmas time.
Our long-time donors, the Ward Family Foundation, provided funds for a matching challenge to our community of donors in honour of Giving Tuesday. We are incredibly thankful for their support this year and in previous years. We would not have been able to execute this campaign without their dedication to our mission.
Thank you to our entire community of donors who took this challenge to heart and helped us exceed our fundraising goal by 51%! As we watched the donations roll in throughout November, especially on November 29th, all of us at Moorelands Kids were blown away with your support of our work and your investment in building up vulnerable communities in the GTA.
