Hey Moorelands!
Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend and that the Easter bunny brought you lots of treats! Our Budding Leaders After-school Team (BLAST) kids had a lovely treat last week when they attended the Bay Street Hoops Kids Clinic! BLAST Gateway participants got to experience training from a former member of the Canadian National Basketball team, Rowan Barrett. Our kids participated in drills and workshops and learned first-hand the importance of team work and good sportsmanship.

Also last week, BLAST Grenoble took park in a fun cookery activity on the theme of pirates. They used their creative flair to whip up ‘crab’ snacks out of croissants, fruit and veggies and seriously enjoyed eating the fruits of their labour! We definitely have some potential chefs in our midst…check out the gallery below to view some of the other healthy and delicious treats BLAST Grenoble participants have been whipping up.
Coming up this week, our Valley Park Youth LED participants will be putting their communication and persuasion skills to good use as they take part in a debate. Also, our Send a Kid to Camp campaign continues – don’t forget to donate and help us send more kids to Wilderness Camp this summer! Plus, tickets are on sale for our fantastic fundraiser – Get Jazzed about Moorelands, starring Molly Johnson and be sure to head on down to our AGM next week!
Finally, we’ll leave you with a video to remind you what Moorelands is all about…check out our BLAST kids telling you about Moorelands Budding Leaders After-school Teams in their own words!
Aren’t they cute? Have a great week!
