Moorelands Impact Report – 2016 to 2018

Impact By The Numbers

Each year, we impact over 1,100 children and youth by giving them the skills they need to succeed in our after-school programs (BLAST, Youth LED and VITAL) and at Moorelands Camp, our overnight summer camp located in the Algonquin Highlands.

Our chief objective is to empower these underserved, urban children to transform their lives and prepare them to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood.

Our Objectives

Our social/recreation and leadership/life-skills programs for Toronto children and youth in need all have the same four overarching objectives.

Through positive and fun programming, we aimed to provide Toronto kids age 6 – 16 with:

  1. Opportunities to develop self-awareness and confidence;
  2. The experience of positive connections with peers and adult role models;
  3. The opportunity to develop Moorelands Leadership Habits & Qualities (including respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, trustworthiness, and citizenship);
  4. The understanding that these habits and qualities apply outside of Moorelands and set the child up to succeed.
