On Thursday, June 6th, Moorelands Kids took 52 kids from our after-school LED and VITAL youth leadership programs on an adventure to Moorelands Camp for their first taste of the Canadian wilderness on the Leadership Retreat 2019!
The Leadership Retreat is an opportunity for all program participants across our four difference programs (three LED locations and one VITAL) to come together and explore challenges, consolidate leadership learnings and expand their personal networks and community connections.
Although there were *a few* bugs (!!!!) it was an amazing weekend, with so much fun and learning. Some highlights were participants pushing past their comfort zone and working together on the ropes course, setting goals and succeeding in archery, using all their leadership learnings to take part in the LED challenge (congrats to the Seabears cabin for winning!) and of course, cheering on the Raptors on the Friday evening of the leadership retreat from the dining all!
We’re so glad to have gone on this journey with our participants and wish them the best summer break. We hope that this taste of nature has whet their appetite for more outdoor, active fun in the future… and we’ll be seeing some of you up at camp this summer! Until then, enjoy the pics…
Awesome great start to a wonderful 2019 program year at Moorelands Camp. Kudos to the staff and volunteers at Moorelands Kids – you are everything. Thank you.
