Our staff training is currently in full swing up on Kawagama Lake. Right now, new and returning staff from around the globe are learning what it means to be positive staff role models and mentors to the children we serve.
Mentorship matters at Moorelands Kids!
The staff who come to work at Moorelands Camp each summer are leaders who will grow both personally and professionally. Their job over the next few months is hugely important. At camp, the staff will find caring mentors who will help them become strong positive leaders. In turn, they will become strong, caring mentors to the campers who arrive next week.
Moorelands Camp is FUN but we offer something deeper and more important.
Moorelands Camp is INTENTIONAL!
At Moorelands Kids we are on a mission! We intend that children will gain skills, experience personal growth, build confidence and make friends because they have been to Moorelands.
We train our staff to mentor and lead children using a Positive Youth Development framework. At staff training, they learn to plan activities with a purpose, create teachable moments and maximize the opportunities we have to positively influence the children and youth we serve over the summer.
Mentorship at Moorelands Camp is important for both the campers and the staff. We are a community focused on leadership development; and we work hard to ensure that everyone has access to an experienced and trusted advisor who can help them achieve their leadership potential.
