After her triumphant Kawagama Lake perimeter swim last year, Karin Ibscher wanted to do something equally creative for her latest camp fundraising efforts. Karin wanted help the Starry Summer Night Committee reach their goal of getting Moorelands Camp a new pontoon boat, while at the same time bringing her community together during the difficult time of COVID-19… and so the Aqua Hug was born!
On Saturday, August 22nd, 32 swimmers, including our own Board Member, Anita Stefan, swam around our camp property in a socially distanced swim. Thank you so much to Karin and all the swimmers, spotters, camp staff and volunteers and, of course, the generous donors who helped the event raise $8,795!
Congrats to Marsala Lukianchuk, Shannon Henderson, and Wrigley the lab (pictured above) for winning prizes from The Fish Shack for most funds raised!
THANK YOU!
KEEP KIDS LEARNING AND GROWING THIS FALL!
Please donate and help us continue to develop kids’ resiliency throughout some of Toronto’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods.
