We strive to treat all we touch – the families we serve, our staff, community partners, volunteers, donors and suppliers – with courtesy, respect, dignity, compassion and understanding. These values have guided our programs throughout our history and today is no different.
To empower kids to create meaningful change in their communities, we teach them the leadership qualities we live by and that we believe will help them become strong leaders and positively influence others.
We teach Respect.
Our definition of RESPECT includes treating others the way they would like to be treated and appreciating differences. By learning RESPECT through our programs, our participants understand that leaders recognize the inherent value of all people and the power of diversity.
We teach Responsibility.
Our definition of RESPONSIBILITY includes doing what you are supposed to do and being accountable for your attitudes, actions, and behaviours. By learning RESPONSIBILITY through our programs, our participants understand that the actions of leaders have an impact on others.
We teach Caring.
Our definition of CARING includes being kind and helping others in need. By learning CARING through our programs, our participants understand that leaders think and act with compassion while considering the struggles of others.
We teach Trustworthiness.
Our definition of TRUSTWORTHINESS includes being honest and having the courage to do the right thing. By learning TRUSTWORTHINESS through our programs, our participants understand that leaders develop a reputation of integrity.
We teach Citizenship.
Our definition of CITIZENSHIP includes doing your share as part of the community. By learning CITIZENSHIP through our programs, our participants understand that leaders have a duty to engage in tough conversations, actively educate themselves on pressing social issues, and always stand up for what is right in their community.
All children have the potential to be leaders, all they need is a foundation. Once they are empowered with the qualities needed to be a phenomenal leader, they can begin to positively influence others and create meaningful change in their communities. Moorelands Kids provides that foundation.
