“As a retiree just before the pandemic, I was struggling with what to do next,” says Kim, a volunteer at Moorelands Kids who gives her time on a weekly basis to help out in our head office.
Kim enjoys curling in the winter months, and she first learned about Moorelands through one of the ladies in her curling group who had sent her children to Moorelands Camp. “She spoke very highly of Moorelands, so I made a donation,” says Kim. After reading about some of Moorelands’ programs and our mission, she jumped at the opportunity to volunteer with us.
Since November 2022, Kim has volunteered on a regular basis in our Fund Development department to help organize corporate files, make phone calls, and send mail. You might have seen her helping out behind the scenes with our Christmas Holiday Program in December, too!

“Everyone at Moorelands is so positive and friendly,” says Kim. Though she previously worked in IT for a large corporation, she sees that the atmosphere at Moorelands is different—it is like one big happy family. We’re glad to have Kim as part of our family!
