Runners after the STWM 2016

Celebrating Our Runners – STWM 2016

“The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.” ― John Bingham, No Need for Speed: A Beginner’s Guide to the Joy of Running

On Sunday, October 16th, 2016, six Moorelands’ champions ran the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon to raise money for Moorelands’ vital programs and we couldn’t be more proud of them!

Mike, Jodi, Andrew, Meagan, Jill, and Hollie were the embodiment of Moorelands’ character qualities and leadership skills as they persevered through the grueling 21 km and achieved the goals they had set out for themselves. Go team Moorelands!

Our Runners – Fundraising for an Amazing Cause

Our runners set out to achieve their best and we’re so proud of their results. Despite the rain, blisters, and shin splints, they all achieved amazing times and powered through the finish line.

Speaking to Team Moorelands before the race, it was clear that there was one thing in particular that motivated them: raising money for kids in need and setting a great example of leadership. Andrew explained:

“I’m running because I want to raise money for Toronto children in need…and I want my daughter to lead a healthy, active life, therefore I have to lead by example.”

The money raised by our six runners is going straight to our leadership programs for Toronto’s disadvantaged kids. And it’s not too late to help out! You can still sponsor Team Moorelands until October 31st so please donate today and help us achieve our target of $5000 so we can get more kids to Moorelands.

We couldn’t be more proud of what our champions have achieved; check them out below…

I’m sure you’ll all join us as we salute these amazing Moorelands’ champions and say a massive THANK YOU!

You guys rock!
