When I consider all that has been given this past year, I am humbled at the generosity of our donors and volunteers. So much has been accomplished through the investment of donations and volunteers in action.
As such, we have been able to nurture kids to be actively engaged on a fun journey of learning in 2024 through our City and Camp programs.
Moorelands Kids is a vibrant community made up of families, donors and volunteers. We are all united in our focus to create positive pathways for children and youth who might otherwise be isolated due to socio-economic challenges. It is because of this community that kids get to feel valued, connected and confident in their journey of personal growth and development.
2024 posed some obvious challenges for the charitable sector in general, as corporate and foundation funders were themselves overwhelmed with much greater needs in the community at large. For Moorelands Kids this was also a reality in facing some difficult decisions due to a downward trend in fundraised dollars as many individuals, families and organizations were also struggling financially.
However, as relationships have always been key to our fundraising efforts, we were also able to develop some new funding pipelines and strengthen some existing donor relations. Moorelands Kids continues to strive for growth and sustainability as we are confident that our track record spanning more than 100 years positions us well for new investors and loyal donors.
Having created positive outcomes for thousands of children and youth over the past century, Moorelands has the expertise and commitment needed to continually improve on the positive outcomes for kids. From broadening our reach into other marginalized communities to securing new partnerships and opportunities for expansion, we will endeavour to deliver our unique experiential leadership programming to even more children and youth.
