As Chair of the Finance Committee, I am pleased to be able to share with you some highlights from the 2024 Audited Financial Statements for Moorelands Kids.
Having come through another challenging year with the economy, you will be happy to know that Moorelands Kids was able to navigate this past year with fiscal stability.
During the year, Moorelands raised in excess of two million dollars again to invest in various programs. At the same time, the leadership team worked hard to ensure every dollar raised made the largest impact possible to children in our communities.
I believe that the integrity of Moorelands as a leading charity of choice, has carried us forward with remarkable success due in part to our fiscal stewardship and of course the generosity of our donors. Funds raised were invested directly into Moorelands City and Moorelands Camp programs, providing more kids with access to a myriad of leadership learning opportunities. The quality curriculum in both the City and Camp programs, reflect the intentional investment that we direct into positive youth development for disadvantaged children and youth.
I am also proud to report that for the fifth year in a row, Moorelands Kids has been recognized for its financial stability, transparency and reporting. Therefore, we are once again accredited as a Top 100 Charity in Canada and received a 5-Star A Rating by Charity Intelligence.
Looking forward to 2025, the Board of Directors will oversee the strategic growth of Moorelands Kids in meeting its operational fiscal goals while remaining financially sustainable. This will ensure that we continue to build new pathways to serve more marginalized children and youth with meaningful experiential leadership programs.
