A Letter From Our Board President & Executive Director 2024

Through the investment of tools, board & staffing expertise, in 2024 Moorelands Kids was able to increase our visibility through partnerships and various communication platforms. One of the new communication methods has been our new text messages that we hope will keep you even more connected to the Moorelands Community, with updates and fresh content coming directly to your mobile device.

With an increase in visibility and outreach, we also saw an increase in families both local to Toronto, and from surrounding areas, sign their kids up for Moorelands Camp last summer. Many children face financial barriers that prevent them from experiencing the joys of nature, and that is why we endeavour to ensure funding is in place to support more kids to experience our unique leadership curriculum in nature.

We often hear from cottagers and neighbours on Kawagama Lake, how they really enjoy hearing kids’ voices having fun with activities, or their campfire songs that echo over the lake. Moorelands Camp is truly a great place for kids to be kids, in a safe setting.

All of our opportunities for growth and modernization are only made possible through donations that are invested into our programs, allowing us to advance positive outcomes for children and youth. Moorelands offers a journey of growth and development through our year-round City programs that empower kids to feel valued and connected, as they explore their full potential with critical life and leadership skills.

Our commitment is unwavering, and Moorelands Kids is determined to increase our reach into more low-income communities so that more kids can access these opportunities to have a sense of belonging to a community that cares as they enhance their educational, emotional and social well-being. On behalf of the Board and staff at Moorelands Kids.

THANK YOU for your support. You enable us to deliver quality programs that focus on helping children and youth, particularly those at risk of falling through the cracks of society, to remain engaged and successful in their education and social development.

Sincerely,

Lynda Tilley
