HOW YOUR SUPPORT MAKES AN IMPACT DURING THE SEASON OF GIVING.
During the holidays, many parents are stretched thin, choosing between buying gifts or putting food on the table, all while wanting to create memories for their children. Holiday Sharing directly impacts children and families in need by providing gifts and grocery support during one of the most expensive and stressful times of the year.
Through Adopt-a-Family, generous donors sponsor families whose children attend our programs. They shop for necessities and gifts to help bring joy and nourishment to families. The impact of Holiday Sharing goes beyond gifts and grocery support, by providing families facing financial strain with a sense of hope, joy and dignity.
“Holiday Sharing helps my family celebrate this beautiful season together,” says Yuliana, a mother whose family has received support for three years. “We are happy and thankful for the opportunity and the support of Moorelands. It has also taught us the importance of helping others.”

FROM PASSION TO PURPOSE: LUANA’S VOLUNTEER STORY
WHY LUANA CHOOSES TO MAKE AN IMPACT WITH MOORELANDS KIDS.
Though being a mother, wife and career woman has been immensely satisfying to Luana, she realized she wanted to spend more time giving back to her community. That’s why she began volunteering with Moorelands Kids four years ago as a marketing advisor.
Luana lends her brand marketing expertise to the communications team, helping shape messaging, support fundraising campaigns and create content that tells the powerful story of Moorelands Kids. “It’s been so rewarding to use my skills to amplify the organization’s voice and mission. The more awareness we create, the more we can positively impact the lives of young people.
She was drawn to Moorelands because of its long history of empowering children and youth in her own community. “I still cannot believe that Moorelands Kids has been doing such great work for 113 years, primarily in the Toronto area where I grew up,” she says. “The mission really resonated with me, especially the emphasis on building leadership and confidence in youth from underserved communities.”
One standout project for Luana was helping develop a campaign celebrating Moorelands’ history. “It was fascinating looking at old black and white photos of the staff and kids from decades ago,” she says. “It was a chance to reflect on everything Moorelands has achieved, and I love helping the team turn authentic stories into a heartfelt campaign.”

FUNTASTIC FESTI-FALL!
In October, thanks to our incredible volunteers and the awesome teenagers from our City VITAL Youth program, families gathered for Festi-Fall—a day of community connection, games and much more.
And here’s the best part: kids left with brand new backpacks, supported by our wonderful neighbour and partner, Synergy Group, to help them start the school year off right.
