Role Outline
Program Leaders assist the Kids Club Coordinator to create a welcoming, safe and positive where children aged 11-14 years have fun, make friends and develop life skills. Working with a Program Leader, the Kids Club Coordinator plans and implements our leadership curriculum including snack, activities, and trips for 15-25 participants. The After-school Programs are located in Flemingdon Park, Humber Summit and Humbermede.

Hours
- Up to 12 hours per week
- Available Tuesday- Thursday for this position
- Each program runs from 2.30 pm – 6pm one day a week, Tuesday to Thursday, for 9 weeks, fall semester starts in October
- Some additional hours in September for training, outreach and in June for clean up & leadership retreat
- Extra hours supporting the City Kids (formerly BLAST) program possible for when Kids Club isn’t running
Job Responsibilities
- Work with the Kids Club Coordinator to plan and implement fun, educational and skill developing activities
- Help prepare a healthy snack
- Help supervise participants and implement the necessary behaviour management strategies
- Support volunteers
- Maintain professional and friendly relations with our Community Partners and the participants’ parents
- Complete and submit paperwork and reporting
- Embody and implement Moorelands goals, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Standard First Aid
- Principles of Healthy Child Development High 5 Certified
- Experience working directly with children aged 11-14 years
- Must have the desire and ability to work with children in an indoor and outdoor setting
- Proven leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Be energetic, enthusiastic, patient and flexible
- Able to work in team and individual settings
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is an asset
- Knowledge of the local communities is an asset
