Program Leaders assist the Kids Club Coordinator to create a welcoming, safe and positive where children aged 11-14 years have fun, make friends and develop life skills. Working with a Program Leader, the Kids Club Coordinator plans and implements our leadership curriculum including snack, activities, and trips for 15-25 participants. The After-school Programs are located in Flemingdon Park, Humber Summit and Humbermede.

Hours

• Up to 12 hours per week
• Available Tuesday- Thursday for this position
• Each program runs from 2.30 pm – 6pm one day a week, Tuesday to Thursday, for 9 weeks, fall semester starts in October
• Some additional hours in September for training, outreach and in June for clean up & leadership retreat
• Extra hours supporting the City Kids (formerly BLAST) program possible for when Kids Club isn’t running

• Work with the Kids Club Coordinator to plan and implement fun, educational and skill developing activities
• Help prepare a healthy snack
• Help supervise participants and implement the necessary behaviour management strategies
• Support volunteers
• Maintain professional and friendly relations with our Community Partners and the participants’ parents
• Complete and submit paperwork and reporting
• Embody and implement Moorelands goals, policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Standard First Aid
• Principles of Healthy Child Development High 5 Certified
• Experience working directly with children aged 11-14 years
• Must have the desire and ability to work with children in an indoor and outdoor setting
• Proven leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Be energetic, enthusiastic, patient and flexible
• Able to work in team and individual settings
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is an asset
• Knowledge of the local communities is an asset
