Lynda Tilley – Executive Director

Lynda Tilley brought over 16 years of experience working with children and youth at risk to her position of Camp Director of Moorelands Camp when she joined Moorelands Kids in 2000. In 2015, Lynda became Moorelands Kids’ Executive Director. Prior to joining the Moorelands Kids staff team, Lynda was the Residential Centre Manager of Our Place Peel, a long-term residence for disadvantaged and homeless youth in Peel Region. Lynda sees camp as a place to provide opportunities for children to develop positive relationships with adults and peers and to learn core values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Lynda is a graduate of the American Camping Association’s Camp Director Course.

Staff - David Borsook

David Borsook – Moorelands Camp Director

David comes to Moorelands Kids with over 10 years’ experience working in outdoor education and camps. After graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science he completed his Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia with a major in Elementary General Education and a specialization in Early Childhood Education. David put his skills to work in a variety of camp and educational environments, including as the Assistant Director – Programs and Operation, at Camp McGovern. David is also a former teacher for the Waterloo Region District School Board where he taught a variety of grades and worked with children from wide ranging backgrounds and needs. He has a passion for empowering youth of all ages, to realize their potential and become the independent, positive leaders of tomorrow.

Staff - Danielle Buller

Danielle Buller – Reception and Registrar

Danielle Buller has been a member of the Moorelands Camp staff team since 2012; beginning first as a Cabin Leader and later, Program Staff, Day Camp Coordinator and Section Head. In 2017, she joined the office team as Receptionist and Registrar; bringing with her not only her wealth of experience from Moorelands Camp but also her vast knowledge of child development thanks to her degrees in Drama in Education and Community and Education for Primary and High School from the University of Windsor. Danielle firmly believes that making a positive influence in a child’s life at a young ages sets them up for success and happiness in later life. She is happy to have joined the office team as she knows that Moorelands Kids provides that much-needed leadership influence.

Staff - Maureen Lewis

Maureen Lewis – Director of Development & Communications

With expertise in corporate sales solutions and revenue generating developmental work since 1988, Maureen joined Moorelands Kids as Director, Development & Communications in December 2013. Since Joining Moorelands Kids, Maureen led the organization in a culture shift — providing the financial strategy and funding to achieve a 75c per $1 raised spend on programs and a doubling of kids served. She moved us from deficit to modest surplus while replenishing operational reserves and led the org in both a re-brand and two web rebuilds, implementing a focus on donor-concentric web experiences. Prior to coming to Moorelands Kids, Maureen was responsible for program management, partnership development, events management and media stewardship for a variety of national charities including the Learning Partnership and Raising the Roof. A passionate believer in collaborative solutions, Maureen has a particular focus on public engagement, strategic growth, culture shift, brand building and community and corporate partnership, with a strong interest in causes that support children, youth and poverty reduction. Born and raised in Toronto, Maureen holds an Honours, Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in marketing and finance. Maureen is proud to be a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Staff - Min Lin

Min Lin – Controller

Prior to joining Moorelands Kids staff team in 2009, Min Lin worked in the not-for-profit sector for five years. Her experience includes planning, development and implementation of accounting systems and policies, and administrative functions such as designing accounting procedures, budget, analysis, financial reports, payroll, Human Resources, and general office administration. Min holds a master’s degree in engineering and spent 10 years teaching at ShenZhen University in China. With great passion for working in the accounting field, she achieved her CGA designation in 2011.

Staff - Jodi Thompson

Jodi Thompson – City Programs Manager

In January of 2016, Jodi joined Moorelands Kids city programs as City Programs Manager. Jodi first became involved with Moorelands Kids in 2012, as a Section Head at Moorelands Camp and continues to spend summer vacations helping at camp. Jodi has a rich history in supportive child programming. In 2015 Jodi joined the Peel District School Board as a Teaching Assistant, integrating children with special needs into mainstream classrooms. At the YMCA, Jodi programmed for children and youth in both camp and drop-in program settings for over 5 years. During her schooling at Seneca College for Child and Youth Work, Jodi completed two international placements serving children in local communities. Jodi strongly believes in the leadership potential of all children. She is devoted to helping children build upon their own strengths, so they can become leaders within their own communities.

Joyce Tampus – Database and Stewardship Coordinator

Having joined Moorelands Kids in March 2022, Joyce is excited to share her knowledge of best stewardship practices and her programming and data modelling skills to support Moorelands Kids’ data and donor needs.

Joyce holds an Honors Bachelors in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Toronto, graduating in November 2022. She has three years of experience working at the University of Toronto within the central Advancement office. In these roles, she utilized business intelligence skills with Raiser’s Edge and Power BI to support the activities related to stewardship operations, student awards, financial reporting and alumni reunion events. Joyce is looking forward to working with Moorelands Kids stakeholders to share impact and provide the data that drives impactful story sharing.
