City Summer Day Camp Program

Moorelands offers a weekly City Summer Day Camp program in Toronto for children aged 6to 12 and a Summer Leadership Program for youth 13-15, during the months of July and August. There are 7 day camp sessions and 3 two-week leadership programs that provide 490 spaces of quality programming.

Moorelands City Summer Day Camp is a friendly, supportive environment where campers are encouraged to build Confidence, Competence, Character and Connections while having fun. In addition to cooperative games and non-competitive team sports, there are many opportunities for campers to express themselves creatively with arts & crafts, drama, musical and literacy-based activities. Moorelands City Summer Day Camp has great games on site. In addition, campers frequently visit local parks and pools as well as popular attractions in and outside of the Toronto area.

The Youth Leadership Program is a welcoming and inclusive environment where youth learn skills to help them become leaders in their own lives and their communities. They are given opportunities to practice their newly acquired skills: they practice leading activities and leading others and develop teamwork skills.

The Moorelands City Summer Day Camp stands out from other day camps because:

  • It is a multi-activity program serving the high-needs, under-resourced neighbourhoods of Flemingdon/Thorncliffe Park.

  • Our day camp groups are small - 16 children to 2 staff - allowing for one-on-one attention.

  • Our youth leadership groups are small - 14 youth to 2 staff

  • The program accommodates children from 6 to 12 years of age. Younger children can learn from their older mentors and friendships can flourish.

  • Our curriculum offers a wide range of activities so children with different learning capacities are able to participate and benefit.

  • Our two-level values-based learning curriculum gives extra support to children who are new to Canada and adjusting to their new surroundings. We offer activities that celebrate diversity and ensure activities are suited to children who have limited English language skills.

There is a weekly fee for this registered program. Subsidies are available. For more information, please call us: 416-466-9987 ext. 305

At Moorelands, we recognize the inherent value of all children and youth. We work with Toronto children and youth affected by poverty to provide them with positive and fun experiences to help strengthen their confidence, competence and character.
