For Children & Youth:
Who hasn't received a gift one didn't need or want? Or a present that was opened and put aside, never to be picked up again? Birthdays and Christmases can be holidays of plenty, even excess, for privileged children, OR they can be opportunities to transform the life of a less fortunate child.
Christmas is a great opportunity to reinforce to our children how very lucky they are, and to teach them that even though they are young, they can do so much to help enrich the lives of other children. After all, the spirit of Christmas is about giving, not receiving.
Ask the children in your life - family members or friends - to give up just ONE gift from you or some other relative or friend. Let your child or grandchild know the value of the gift will be donated instead to sponsor a less fortunate child to attend a Moorelands After-school program.
Pre-printed cards are available from our office for children and family members. Please call Dagmar at 416-466-9987 x303 or email dschroeder@moorelands.ca if interested.

For Adults:
Last November, the Globe and Mail ran an article entitled "The High Cost of Ugly, Useless Christmas Gifts" - in Canada alone, that's a $1 billion waste every Christmas.
Instead of accepting gifts you don't need or want, why not have your friends and relatives donate to Moorelands and give the Gift of Opportunity to a child in need? Or set a specific goal of sponsoring a child for a month, a semester, or a full school year and try to reach it with a group of family members, friends or colleagues in lieu of a gift exchange.
$420 will support a child to attend a Moorelands After-school program for one year, $210 for a semester, $42 for a month. Please click here to support our Gift of Opportunity campaign.
We thank you for your support and wish you all the best this holiday season.
