Moorelands Community Services receives funding from a variety of sources, including individuals, foundations, corporations, service clubs and church groups.
We deliver a comprehensive spectrum of children and family services, using highly trained, motivated program staff. We augment their efforts with some volunteer support, but with a clear understanding that qualifications required to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child exceed the abilities of even best-meaning volunteers. Despite our reliance on paid staff, Moorelands is able to deliver our services effectively and efficiently.
Each year, we serve over 1,500 children and families, on a total budget of approx. $1.5 Million.
We are:
Not a member agency of the United Way
Not a recipient of significant funding from the Government (less than 5% in fee reimbursement and program support)
A fiscally prudent organization run with the highest level of stewardship of the public trust
Spending only 9c of each dollar raised on administration.
Our support comes in almost equal parts from individuals and organizations; 42% of our operating funds come from individual donations, 39% from Foundations, Corporations, Service Clubs and Church Groups.
We are extremely grateful to our many donors for their ongoing commitment to our cause. The following individuals, foundations, corporations and groups supported our work in the 2010 calendar year:

Every donation matters at Moorelands: last year, the contributions of under $500 from 844 individuals amounted to a total of $128,647.
THANK YOU ALL!

We believe that transparency and accountability are essential to our success. In 2008, Moorelands was among the early adopters who joined Imagine Canada's Ethical Code Program.
The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code establishes a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly. By adhering to these standards, we are complying with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars. This is important because you, our supporters, are entitled to transparency and the to making the greatest impact possible withyour investment in us.
If you have any questions about our adherence to the Ethical Code, please feel free to e-mail Patricia Jacobs or phone her at 416-466-9987 ext. 308, or download/request a copy of our financial statements. You can also download the Ethical Code itself by going to www.imaginecanada.ca.
